My father bought this in 1971 as my first car. We set out to restore it in our spare time. The engine was short-blocked and transmission rebuilt. Body work was done and painted in original color. Original seat upholstery in place, covered with present material. At last inquiry original seat material was still available. In 1972 Dad and I happened onto a '57 at a Fort Worth junk yard and harvested all the wiring harnesses, motors and switches that had to do with the operation of the top, for spare parts. These will go with the car, too. The top is operational. This car has been in storage since 1995 and was kept in a storage shop when not in use, throughout the entire time we have owned it. Years of storage neglect makes restoration necessary, once again. This was a father son project and since Dad passed away in 1992, my heart just isn't into a second restoration. The car has not been started since 1995, the engine has had anti-freeze in it and is okay. The tires of course are vintage 1950's type rayon and are now shot as you can see in the pictures. The only significant body rust is over the right and left rear wheels, the right being the worst of the two. This was apparently a design flaw in his body style. Skins are available to restore the areas. I will consider any reasonable offer. View from the left side.
